The conference venue is the Semmelweis University Theoretical Building at Nagyvárad tér.
Address: H-1089 Budapest, Nagyvárad tér 4.
One of the university’s central educational and scientific buildings, offering modern infrastructure and academic environment. Located next to Orczy Garden, the building hosting the conference was inaugurated in 1976 and designed by Gedeon Gerlóczy, Ernő Südi and László Wagner. The lobby features a leaded glass composition designed by Gyula Hincz. With its 86-meter tower, it is one of the tallest non-industrial buildings in Budapest. Among the university’s facilities, the Nagyvárad Square building is perhaps the most well known, housing medical research institutes and serving as a venue for scientific events and conferences.
The building has excellent public transport connections, with the M3 metro you have to get off at Nagyvárad tér station, and the building is just a short walk away. Several bus and tram stops can also be found in the immediate neighborhood, providing additional travel options. Thanks to this well-developed network, the city’s main destinations are easily and quickly accessible.
Beside the well-known airlines, several low-cost airlines fly between Budapest and major European cities (for example Wizzair, Ryanair, EasyJet, Eurowings). From Liszt Ferenc Airport, you can travel with the airport’s official taxi partner, Főtaxi. Taxi reservations can be made at the official Főtaxi stands located at the exits of Terminals 2A and 2B. You may also use the Airport Minibus Service, which offers door-to-door transportation for approximately 27 EUR one way and 48 EUR for a return ticket. Public transportation between the airport and the hotels/conference venue is less expensive. To reach the city centre, take the shuttle 100E to Kálvin tér, from where the venue is also easily accessible with metro line M3.
Budapest is easily accessible with, regular bus and train lines from the neighbouring countries. Both trains and buses enter to one of the central stations of Budapest, all of which has direct metro line access, which provides easy access to the City Centre and the Venue.
Budapest has excellent public transport including four metro lines, a network of trams and hundreds of bus lines covering the whole city. Public transport is one of the best options to travel within the city. The official supplier, BKK, provides a set of single-travel and time-windowed tickets as well as passes; with a potentially best offer for students to obtain a monthly pass. For further information, visit bkk.hu. Tickets can be purchased at the BKK customer service centers located in Terminals 2A and 2B, as well as from BKK ticket vending machines near the terminal entrances. Tickets are also available via the BudapestGO app that you can download for iOS and Android as well.
